Specialized Services
JHA provides a wide range of specialized architectural services for both public and private clients. Design specialties include custom homes and remodels; restoration and rehabilitation of historic buildings; theater and performing spaces; religious structures; educational facilities; art galleries, dance spaces, studios, and classrooms; and landlord and tenant retail improvements. A portion of the firm’s services are dedicated to public interest and non-profit groups.
National experts
JHA are nationally-recognized experts in the renovation and rehabilitation of historic buildings. The firm is an official historical resource consultant for the State of California and many of the firm’s projects involve compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. The firm has worked with the California Office of Historic Preservation, the National & California Park Services, local historic review boards, and public agencies in the development of innovative design solutions for historic projects. Preservation services also include National Register determination, Historic Resource Evaluations, design reviews, access design, code assessment, archival research, reports, and surveys.
GREEN CERTIFIED
Jerri Holan, FAIA, is a Certified Green Building Professional as well as a State-Certified Postearthquake Assessment Volunteer. The firm’s conservation expertise influences its designs and the firm promotes sustainable building practices and encourages green building materials.
