Helser Addition, Berkeley, California
Second floor bedrooms were added to this 1920's Craftsman bungalow
while its kitchen was completely remodeled. By relocating the laundry
room upstairs, a real dining area was gained and large windows and
a french door invite garden views and access. The stair atrium provides
a two-story element at the rear of the residence while functioning
as a natural light well for the dining area. It features a large
stained glass window, a custom window, as well as recycled archtop
windows. Craftsman details, built-ins, wood working, stained glass
windows, and Arts and Craft light fixtures all maintain the ambience
of this intimate bungalow.
