![]() Lukesh Bedroom Addition, Berkeley, California An addition to an addition, this small A-frame bungalow from 1904 housed a growing family. With children, no yard space, and a small budget, the second addition was placed over a previous sunroom addition in order to utilize the sunroom's modern concrete foundation. The existing Master Bedroom was also remodeled, removing a dropped ceiling and enlarging its single window into a custom window seat with 180-degree views towards the Berkeley hills. Window lights were divided to match casement windows previously incorporated in the sunroom. The two new bedrooms were designed under a dormer to the main roof. While the new bedrooms are small (7'x 7.5'), they each have a pitched ceiling and three windows which give a sense of spaciousness and provide even lighting. |
