Nottolli Bathroom

Kensington, California

Room With A View

A homeowner finally decided to tackle her master bath. While the room was spacious, it was cramped with two sink counters, a knee-knocker shower and no place to hang towels.

A walk-in shower was the biggest challenge structurally but, understandably, the Owner would not compromise on this feature. Consolidating the two sinks into one counter freed up the bay window. By adding a bench to the window, the bay is now the room’s focal point with breathtaking views, comfortable seating and lots of storage. The old separate toilet room was repurposed into a much-needed linen closet while the toilet got it’s own space with lots of useful shelves.

Once the plan was resolved, the Architect finished the space with artful, mosaic stone and complementary warm mahogany casework. Light fixtures and medicine cabinets were selected to go with the vintage home. Ecstatic with her new luxurious master bathroom (no more knee knocks!), the Owner splurged on a towel warmer. Finally, she has a place for everything and everything was in its place.
