Bataille-Berkowitz Bathroom Addition, Oakland, California

Part of a master bedroom suite addition, this bathroom fits a lot of elements into fifty square feet. A large whirlpool bath dominates the room which also features a hand-held shower. The backside of “his” medicine cabinet (the other cabinet is “hers”) serves as the shower’s splash barrier. Leading up to the bath is a step which doubles as a sitting area around which the contractor fit his cabinet drawers. Sink and toilet were selected to match the bath and Italian terra cotta tile provides the luxurious finishing touch. High ceilings, three windows, and large mirrors make the room feel much larger than its dimensions would indicate.
