Cheung Bathroom Remodel, Piedmont, California

This small home lacked a bathroom on its main floor. Due to zoning restrictions, no additional square footage could be added to the home so remodeling an existing space was the only alternative. The solution was transforming an unused breakfast nook into a shower room. The bench of the nook and the floor were covered with marble tile and the existing built-in shelves functioned perfectly as a linen closet. The large window was replaced with obscure glass, a petite toilet was fit into a 45° angle allowing the required clearances, and the smallest neo-angle shower fit into the corner. A french door, also with obscure glass, allows light to stream into the foyer and gives the tiny room its airy feeling.
