Food Warehouse, Berkeley, California

This project involved adding food preparation areas to an existing warehouse facility for a company which manufactures popular sports food supplements. Prefabricated panels were used to create independent freestanding production laboratories. This eliminated structural improvements to the existing tilt-up slab building and allowed the company to add modules as necessary. These modules were hermetically sealed off from the warehouse functions to satisfy the health department. Window panels in each laboratory space allowed natural light from generous warehouse skylights to penetrate the spaces and provided views to the main warehouse space.
