Charych-Dunkle Remodel & Addition, Albany, California
This remodel was part of a second-story addition to a small “Mid-century
Moderne” home. Dark and cramped, the original home was poorly
laid out and the only access to the large rear deck was through
the master bedroom. By removing most of the interior walls and relocating
the master bedroom upstairs, the kitchen was expanded to the rear
of the home where a new french door leads to the deck. The fireplace
was moved to an exterior wall with matching stained glass windows.
New windows throughout the home take advantage of breathtaking views
and the stair atrium features a built-in window seat and picture
window with views of the East Bay hills.
