Peterkin Remodel, Kensington, California
A small bathroom remodel and porch repair project included improving
the front facade of this 1940's home. During the remodel, all the
aluminum windows were replaced with wooden ones that matched originals,
unused sliding doors to the porch were replaced with windows, and
the new bathroom windows upstairs were aligned with the new windows
below. Upstairs, circular windows were added in the bathroom which
were very typical of the period and which matched an existing window.
New stairs were centered on the new windows and new metal handrails
were designed to emphasize the “streamlined” style of
the house.
