Stimac Living Room Remodel, Albany, California
This quaint New England-style bungalow had a small living room
but a large porch. In order to rectify the situation, half of the
porch was enclosed and incorporated into a new, larger living room.
A feature of the new living room is the “inglenook,”
a traditional Craftsman space with a fireplace at its center (a
direct vent fireplace was used here instead). Colonial columns separate
the inglenook from the living room for a cozy effect around the
hearth. In addition, half walls with matching Colonial columns define
the foyer area, another typical Craftsman detail. Arts & Crafts
light fixtures were employed to complete the traditional look.
